Floral & Decor Design
Special Events and Decor Special Events always have some form of decor and/or flowers to accent the venue, facility or event site. There are many different decor and floral ideas and needs for the many types of special event that one may be hosting. Even though the needs and budget expenditures are different for the many different types of events one thing is clear, no special event is complete without some sort of decor or floral arrangement to accent it. However when considering decor and/or floral ideas for any special event one needs to have some basic knowledge and understanding about how the decor and the particular event being planned should be compatible. One simply rule of compatibility between decor and the particular special event itself is that form should always follow function. Compatibility between the event itself and it's function is the key factor for a successful event. Every aspect of the event being planned for should exemplify a hand-in-hand relationship between form and function. What ever the case may be, having decor is a must at special events. Budget concerns and over spending for first time buyers Many individuals, largely first time buyers may overspend on areas that do very little for the event or worst reduce the overall success and/or the effectiveness of an event and or it's design. Some of the reasons for this is because many first time buyers lack the knowledge to know what works or what makes or breaks an event. Many simply don't understand the relationship between form and function. Some buyers simply overspend while thinking it will make the event better while some are over-sold by aggressive sales people relying heavily on the emotions or lack of experience of the buyer. Many times individuals who overspend on decor soon get financially stressed out and only compound the problem through over reacting by trying to make up for the deficit by reducing the event budget in areas that better serve the overall success of the event. Overspending and overreacting by many first time buyers is common place in the event industry. Many of these situations could be avoided simply by getting informed, following simple rules of form and function and by keeping one's event decor simple and elegant while effective. To have a better understanding on events click on and read the following web page article: Event Planning An informed buyer is a a better buyer. How to go about planning for the decor that best suits your needs.
Though every event is different and every event is a combination of personal preferences, ideas and artistic touch the underlying thought of most special events is to have decor and flowers that are simple and elegant that accent an event. This generalization may not hold true for every event depending on the type of event, theme and purpose of the event and what one wants to create for the event. However for the majority of special events decor and floral arrangements should complement or blend with the decor already present at the venue's facility or event site. One of the biggest waste of many event dollars that literally can reduce the overall success of an event is where the decor and the event form and function compatibility is never discussed, planned for or simply totally neglected or ignored. I have personally seen thousands of dollars wasted on decor at events that actually not only reduced the overall success of the event but caused needless stress and headaches for the host. For the most part the host didn't have a clue as to proper form and function compatibility nor had an idea of the actual logistical considerations as to what they were trying to accomplish and how all of the entities they had scheduled were to actually work together. I have also seen where a buyer would lease a costly event facility with beautiful decor and then brought in a design person to decorate the facility as if from scratch and covered up everything in the room as if the permanent room decor was offensive. It would have been one thing if the permanent decor was offensive but what was put up was most unappealing and gaudy and did not complement the event form and function purpose. It was obvious that some one had over sold the buyer or that the buyer didn't have a clue as to what would work and what wouldn't. Some events do require more decor to be brought in and others require perhaps only a little. One thing should be obvious and that is why spend needless monies on an event facility that already has a beautiful decor only to spend more or an equal amount to cover up the decor that is already paid for. A suggest of savings would be to either cut back on the decor or go to a venue that needs a lot of decor to be added. If you really want to save your money or perhaps use it in other areas that will accent or add to the overall success of the event more don't double spend on decor. All in all, decor considerations and floral arrangements are necessary items for most events but keep in mind that more is not better and that decor should be compatibly with form and function and accent an event rather than become an expensive gaudy distraction and a source of budget concerns and worries.
